Conflict is part of life. Whenever more than one person is involved in any situation for any length of time, personal boundaries will start to rub up against each other, different perspectives and attitudes will clash – and conflict will occur.

Yet many people struggle with conflict and, poorly handled, it can split an organisation apart – whereas personal differences respectfully resolved can transform the working environment into one of openness, trust, and mutual understanding.

This excellent webinar shares a very useful, constructive way of looking at conflict – by means of a simple yet powerful analogy that once seen, cannot be forgotten – and then addresses handling “difficult” people (clients, colleagues, family) in a variety of everyday situations.

Learning outcomes

 Participants will learn to:

  • minimise the likelihood of problems arising in the first place, through ground rules and the use of open, respectful, assertive communication
  • fully appreciate the magic of different perspectives – and the challenges
  • recognise and diffuse  the situations and behaviours that trigger and escalate conflict
  • learn some great tips on how to handle anger
  • receive a brilliant “verbal toolkit” that helps get said those difficult things – safely, and with respect.

These skills apply to everyone in an organisation, and at all levels. It’s particularly useful for those in a leadership or supervisory role, dealing with clients, and/or working in a multi-skilled team or project environment.
